Which calculator should you use?
| Your question | Use this tool |
|---|---|
| Will this Amazon product make money after fees and ads? | FBA Profit Calculator |
| How many months until my total investment is paid back? | ROI & Payback Calculator |
| How much does Etsy keep from each order? | Etsy Fee Calculator |
How to get numbers you can trust
A calculator is only as good as its inputs. Use your real landed cost per unit, including freight and prep, not just the factory price. Check your exact fulfillment fee by size tier in Seller Central rather than guessing. Include ad spend, because most new products need paid traffic for the first months.
Run three versions of every product: a realistic case, a slower case with 30% fewer sales, and a case where your ad costs come in 50% higher. If the product only works in the best case, it is a risky product.
What these tools do not show
- Ramp-up time. Sales rarely start at full speed, so early months are often negative. Our example scenarios show this month by month.
- Returns, damaged units and price changes from competitors.
- Taxes and accounting costs, which depend on your business setup.
